The Moroccan ATSEP (Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel) began today a 5 day strike after social dialogue negotiations with their Air Navigation Service Provider ONDA failed.
To guarantee the continuation of service, ONDA contacted manufacturers of the CNS systems installed at Casablanca and other airports.
This initiative strongly goes against the regulation and International recommendations.
Allowing individuals without the required level of qualification, to operate and maintain operational CNS/ATM equipment, compromises Air Traffic Safety.
IFATSEA deplores this reaction of the ANSP and fully supports the Moroccan ATSEP.
